kahunabear
Is there a way when you save a gif as transparent (I used a transparent threshold of 1) to keep the edges of a font from being jagged? Thanks, kb http://www.favester.com
kahunabear
I am trying to create a simple logo with fonts. I want the background to be transparent so I can lay it on top of an existing graphic. But, when i save it as a gif with a transparent background it makes the font edges jagged. Rick Brewster
Try playing with the Transparency Threshold when you save the GIF. The reason this is happening is that the edges of the font are partially transparent pixels. GIF only supports fully opaque or fully transparent, so these pixels must be saddled on one of those extremes. kahunabear
Rick, Thanks. Is there another format that would work better? kb
TinSoldier
PNG format supports partial transparency. Unfortunately older versions of Internet Explorer do not display PNG transparency correctly. If that's not a big issue, then I would definitely go with PNG.
Rick Brewster
Yes, PNG. Paint.NET's GIF support is purposely second-class. I'd much rather people use PNG.
