Old-like style of images

Recommended Posts

Hello there.

I want to know how to make an image looks like the grey-ish background

for example, you want Demopan from tf2 to have a grey-ish color so that it could fit an old picture of an old battlefield

i saw someone on a website placing a white fluffy dog into a huge grey dog in the background watching soldiers fight.

(I'm sorry if it's a bit misunderstanding, i'm new to PAINT.net)

Hello Trax and welcome to PDN.  Do you want Demopan to look something like this?

If so, what I did was:

1.  Upload your Demopan image - remove the white background by using the magic wand :MagicWandTool: tool on the white areas, at 40% Tolerance (found in the top Tool bar) and pressing 'delete'.  He will now be on a transparent background.  If you have the first layer showing a white background, uncheck the box or delete the layer.

2. You can then use Effects - Object - AA's Assistant at default, to smooth the outlines.

3.  Go to - Adjustments - Sepia 2

4. Then - Adjustments - Black & White.

5.  Finally - File - Save As - and pick either png or jpeg.  With png you will retain a transparent background.

I hope this was what you were looking for :)

If you don't have AA's Assistant in:

Effects - Object - AA's Assistant goes here

Then you need to download it from the Plugin area here

This is what it does for jaggy images:
