ftlog666
i have been sent a background which is rather awful with the exception of the rose. i do not know if there is a plug in to get this effect or not - so i sure hope have put this 1 in the right place. pdnnoob
It would be really helpful to those trying to help if you would be more descriptive of the effect you are looking for because there's more than one effect here... My first thought is this effect, but seeing as how you were the last to post in that thread, you probably know of that already. Perhaps this one? Or this? Maybe this? ftlog666
the effect i am trying to obtain is as stated ....the rose....it cannot be achieved by CMY ghost - you remove alpha , downgrade cyan & you are left with magenta & yellow...but if you look at the rose it is obviously layered - but then what??? lightened??? pdnnoob
If I'm not mistaken, that is simply a photo of a rose pasted on top of the background image. The edges have been faded with some form of transparency gradient (thought the person missed a spot at the top...), but it appears to me the image of the rose is otherwise unaltered. 2 Quote No, Paint.NET is not spyware...but, installing it is an IQ test. ~BoltBait Blend modes are like the filling in your sandwich. Ego Eram Reputo
I think you had it correct with the first link pdnnoob Background Rose TR's EFX on the rose layer Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
ftlog666
thank you - i found a rose - cut out what was not needed - saved as .png then background - imported as layer - put in place but as you will see i did try a favourite TR's EFX but did not get the same effect as the post i posted - seem to think it may have to be done with partial transparency's. i really do enjoy having a reputation of zero - from 1 end of the scale to the other - no pressure. as there was no plug in i could find anywhere to do this [with the exception of Photoshop & no intention of paying $700Au for 1 effect] just wanted to make sure i had not missed 1. now that i know it cannot be achieved as per original post - great. thanks chaps.
