Nice one JD - thanks for posting the image .. and not giving up with Gradientsgalore.

So, is he waving or drowning? ;)

Edit:

Sorry Goonfella - I didn't comment on yours - (must have been away from the froum then).
It's excellent! - love the distant horizon and the seaweed covered foreground rocks - many thanks for posting the image! ;)

Thank you Red and Barbieq

He is drowning. The sudden burst of sun coming through the cloud and the appearance of the dove are meant to give him hope.I leave it to the viewer to imagine what circumstances got him into his predicament .

I made an account just to reply to this post. I loved this tutorial and its my very first tutorial and it was great, very informative. I think I did decent, I don't have a whole lot of talent with paint.net (or any software of this nature) but this tutorial was great. I of course added some things to make it different and I loved it - I literally was just messing around came up with it.

First timer here.

Amazing Tutorial, thank you so much!

Looks good CosmicPainter!

The colour in the meteor trails adds some drama - perhaps you could go further and let the red light illuminate the mist too - just a thought. Good image as is - thanks for posting!

Agreed! Certainly is a different application :D

Nice start to PDN, Vanilla :D I really love that horizon line.

Thank you :)

Hi Vanilla - welcome to the forum (I saw your post in the introduction thread). ;)

Well done on the tutorial - all looks good and I like the clouds you have added.

Nice use of 'dents' and 'twist' on your 'sig' graphic too.

Thanks! I've spent 6 hours today in the car with only a laptop to entertain me - I got a little creative haha

The picture is not of me, but by you.
My picture is below.

Red ochre! Up here worked very well. Rotate / Zoom .. more is not.

My picture does not look, but above and very small.

More often times tried without success.

Looks good so far!

Are you stuck at step 22 Seerose?

From here you set the Primary Color to around R = 30,G = 55,B = 59.
Then use Effects/Render/Clouds to make a sky layer behind the sea.
Then use Rotate/Zoom to give perspective to the clouds.
Lastly add some sea mist and a 'Vignette' effect using Gradients Galore on new layers.

I hope that helps
If not - please try to explain what you do not understand. ;)

It looks like Rotate/Zoom is different in Pdn4! :/

The tutorial was written using Pdn3.5.11.
The 'globe' control looks to be the other way round in Pdn4? (notice the globe control screen shot in both)
The numbers you have entered are correct and give the correct results using Pdn3.5.11 - but seem wrong for Pdn4?
I do not have Pdn4, so cannot test.
Try changing the '90,00' into '-90.00' and reducing the '54,94', till it looks like my result?

Perhaps someone running Pdn4 could give Seerose the correct settings for Rotate/zoom at step 22 - please?
