david.atwell
Press Start, open the Control Panel, then click System. You should get a dialog called "View basic information about your computer"; at the top, it should say "Windows edition," with the version you have listed below. I, for instance, am on my work computer, and it says "Windows 7 Professional," then some copyright info, and then "Service Pack 1." You can upload a screenshot of that screen, or just type in the info from that top section (and maybe the info from the "System" section in the middle, as well). Crop out the "Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings" and "Windows activation" sections if they appear. If you need instructions on how to take a screenshot, take a look here. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

Ego Eram Reputo
What version of paint.net are you trying to install? 3.5.11 should work. The Alpha version of 4.0 will NOT install on Vista: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/27530-reminder-paintnet-40-will-require-windows-7/ Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
