marvin
Hi, I have a question, I tried to copy something via clipboard (ctrl+c, ctrl+v) from Paint.NET 2.72 to OpenOffice.org 2.1 Writer and it didn't work. Pasting the clipboard from Paint.NET to MS Office works. Wy can't I copy something in Paint.NET via clipboard to OpenOffice.org 2.1 Writer? marvin I'm using WinXP Home SP2 (german) with Paint.NET 2.72 and OpenOffice.org 2.1 (german)

aatwo
Just save your image and then in open office writer Just go to "Insert > Picture > From file...". Deviant Art Gallery
marvin
Yes this is working, but it isn't always comfortable to save pictures first and then inserting them into the document .... I just want to know why this is not working ...
aatwo
Probably an incompatibility between the image data stored in the clip board and open office's ability to read that data and recognize it as an image. It's just something you are going to have to work around. Deviant Art Gallery
marvin
Stil the same "problem" with Paint.Net and OpenOffice 2.2.1 ans 2.3 RC1. At The OOo-forum nobody has an idea abaout this behaviour. Would be great if anybody has an idea. marvin
david.atwell
Please read the rules...this is a necropost. Just make a new thread :-) The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
Rick Brewster
Just to provide closure for this topic: I would suggest to the OOo folks that they examine the way that Office 2007 and 2003 are copying stuff to the clipboard, and emulate it. Usually they copy the data in multiple formats to accomodate multiple expectations on the pasting side of things. For instance, if you open an XLS in Excel and have a graph, you can right click on it and select "Copy". This is then something that you can then paste into Paint.NET as a bitmap. For v3.08 I implemented a fix because pasting from 2003 wasn't working -- you can see the work in the SystemLayer.Clipboard class. I had to do some interop to grab an EMF format or something. If a developer from OOo would like to talk to me about this directly, they can feel free to either PM me on this forum, or e-mail me (http://www.getpaint.net/contact.html for the e-mail address). If you don't have access to a copy of Office 2003 or 2007 then we can talk about that as well.
