changing background colour

Recommended Posts

I transcribe church registers, due to the poor copies I need to change the background colour as this improves the writing for me to read and transcribe correctly. When I used PSP8 which I am unable to use now I was able to change the colour by using the dropper. I am new to Paint Net and cannot see how to do this could anybody help please.

Hi!

The dropper is used to pick up a color for use elsewhere; you're probably looking for the flood fill ("Paint Bucket") tool.  It looks like this:  :PaintBucket:

Choose your color, make sure that it's set to "Global" at the top of the screen, and then click on the background.  Let me know if that helps!

A student wrote something nasty & then erase it & I needed to enhance it so that I could send the scanned copy. I used Sharpen & it restored it a treat. Not sure if it would work for you but you could try it.
