fabgear
A printer ask me to save my file with a "RGB color space". How do I do that in Paint.NET? Thanks.
DarkShock
The image that you are trying to print, what file type did you save it as? ---- Gallery | Sig Tutorial | deviantART | Sig Videos | PhotoBucket ----D E S T I N Y

DarkShock
JPG should have worked. Try PNG. ---- Gallery | Sig Tutorial | deviantART | Sig Videos | PhotoBucket ----D E S T I N Y
fabgear
But is there a setting I should set or do something when I save it to know it is "saved with RGB color space" or is that automatic (it's always saved with RGB color space)? DarkShock
I believe it works like this RGB: .JPG .PNG .GIF CMYK: .TIFF .BMP I'm not sure why .JPG didn't work for you. Maybe I'm not understanding your situation. fabgear
Thanks. I think I understand now. If I saved it as jpg then your saying "RGB color space" is automatic.
DarkShock
It should be. Is JPG working for you? ---- Gallery | Sig Tutorial | deviantART | Sig Videos | PhotoBucket ----D E S T I N Y

midora
Jpeg has no idea about RGB it stores data in YCbCr format. In most cases iJpeg is not a lossless image file format. So if quality is an issue then never store your file as jpeg. Jpeg is used to save disk space. RGB color space is not a quite good requirement description it may be sRGB, AdobeRGB, RGB with a color profile or what else. Because Paint.NET does not support color management (including color profiles or gamma) your are not able to create something else than sRGB. So save as PNG. Your printer should be able to figure out that the file contains sRGB.
pyrochild
CMYK: .TIFF .BMPThose are both RGB. Well, TIFF might support other color spaces, I don't know, but if you're saving it with Paint.NET it's RGB. ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it! DarkShock
Those are both RGB. Well, TIFF might support other color spaces, I don't know, but if you're saving it with Paint.NET it's RGB. I thought I was missing something. I never really use those formats. ---- Gallery | Sig Tutorial | deviantART | Sig Videos | PhotoBucket ----D E S T I N Y
Ego Eram Reputo
Paint.NET works in the RGB colorspace so all your images have that as the base. PS and others can work in the CYMK colorspace so images can be saved in that colorspace as well. The difference is that RGB is a system designed primarily for monitors which are black to begin with. As we add color information in increasing amounts the pixel(s) get brighter. CYMK is the opposite. It assumes a white background (i.e. paper) and adding colors (ink) makes the dots increasingly dark (black). CYMK is favored by commercial printers and professional designers. The reason is that the print colors are reproduced with more accuracy. RGB suits images designed to be seen on a screen and not primarily intended to be printed (i.e. web graphics). There is no one-to-one conversion between the two systems. That said, every commercial print house should have the facility to convert RGB into a usable print format. The colors might not be 100% accurate - but they'll be pretty good. ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
SAMuseum
What fixed this for me was NOT zooming in on the SoundCloud image. Upload the precise image you want (png for me, made in paint.net).
