>InAfterRick... but was totally typing while you posted a reply lol.

Hello phsse! :) Can you provide some details on the type of computer you have and how it's setup? I'm guessing that's Windows 7 by the look of the UI. Also do you have any firewall software such as Comodo which has custom security policies?

- The error pop-up says it's trying to read or write protected memory which could be a security policy or firewall rule that's blocking it. The end of the message shows the D:\ drive as the source which normally is a CD / DVD disc drive. When installing PaintDotNet, it should go under the folder it defaults to on the C:\ hard drive.

- Try right-clicking on the PaintDotNet installer file and click "Run As Administrator" as shown below.

You ignored this. Don't ignore posts about rule violations.

This looks like a corrupted font, at least that's my guess judging from the call stack in the error (which indicates the UI is requesting, from Windows, the default font for displaying UI text).

Aw man, sorry to hear that plnsse3. I'm sure whatever Rick mentioned is causing the issue as he built the program. (I need to start doing more app code rather than web based code lol =()

Anyhow, there are quite a few articles on Vista users encountering issues and is during the installation. Hopefully these links may help explain it. There are a few users in these threads that definitely know a lot about Vista. :)

it doesn't let me run as an administrator

Maybe you should find someone who knows something about your specific computer and ask them how to do some of this. We cannot possibly help with every possible tiny step, sometimes you just have to figure stuff out on your own.
