"Unhandled Error" when opening images.

I don't understand this error or how to fix it so please can you reply with a step by step to fix it. Thanks in advance.

When I try and open any image in Paint.Net the program crashes and I get this message:

Open an administrator command prompt ([Windows key], cmd, [ctrl]+[shift]+[enter], Yes)

then type

sfc /scannow

Should it work now or is there something else I need to do?

Restart your PC, then run sfc /scannow again

Repeat until it reports no errors.

Then reboot once more and try Paint.NET
