codeprof
Hello,Paint.Net seems to corrupt images when saved as PNG in very rare cases. In fact it only occured once to me. Possibly because the image is relativly big (11 MB). Maybe it has something to do with "Layers". Sorry, I cannot say what I have done exactly. Maybe the image itself gives a clue when analyzed... The OS is: Windows 8 x64 Pro http://www.file-upload.net/download-7570794/bugreport.zip.html Thanks for your help
midora
If you are searching the forum you will see that there are rare cases of corrupted png output. You uploaded to a share which forces you to download an exe. That's not a good idea...
codeprof
Thanks for the info. The download is a .zip file with 2 .png files. You just have to click on the right download button (the small one ;-) )
brittsbluetears
This has been doing the same thing to me for over a week now. At first I thought it was the new photobucket as I've been having issues with them as well, now all of a sudden I realize it's been Paint.Net the entire thing as I tried to upload it to another server and it looked the same way. I run a website and use .PNG images for all my text so I can use them without backgrounds... Any ideas? Example of .PNG images made two weeks ago: http://i618.photobucket.com/albums/tt270/Bella222009/Posting%20Templates/bentemp_zps14c0bc84.png Example of .PNG image made today: http://i618.photobucket.com/albums/tt270/Bella222009/Posting%20Templates/hybrids.png Notice the one today how there looks to be white grains around the words? Example of .JPG Image made today: http://i618.photobucket.com/albums/tt270/Bella222009/Posting%20Templates/Temp1-1.jpg Example of .PNG Image made today: http://i618.photobucket.com/albums/tt270/Bella222009/Posting%20Templates/Temp1.png See the grainy quality of the .PNG image? Any ideas on how to fix this?
Rick Brewster
brittsbluetears, It looks like when you saved the PNG you set it to 8-bit instead of Auto in the Save Configuration dialog. This isn't corruption. brittsbluetears
I wasn't aware that I set it to anything... I've been saving my .png images the exact same way for years... any idea how to un-do this? Sorry if this is an annoyance...I just want to make sure that I get this fixed.
Ego Eram Reputo
Just select the Auto option in the Save dialog.
