Problem with color selection

Recommended Posts

Hi. So, I've noticed that when I type in numbers for the Hue, Saturation, and Value in the extended 'Colors' window, draw something with the color, and then use the Color Picker tool to select the color again, it often changes by 1. For example; I type 90 for the hue, but it gives me a color with a hue of 89 or 91..

I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's very, very inconvenient for pixel art. Does anybody know of a way to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Oops, wrong place. Sorry, didn't see the "Troubleshooting and Bug Reports" section -.-

Paint.NET runs on the RGB color space, not HSV.

HSV is provided as a convenience.  But, any time you use an HSV color it gets converted into RGB before being used.  There is not a perfect conversion between HSV and RGB.  So, sometimes slight errors are introduced.

If you want totally consistent colors in Paint.NET, use RGB colors instead.
