Shiny text similar to this one

Hey, I have tried all the available tutorials for glossy, shiny and glowing texts but none of them seem to be working. I am a noob on this matter and this might also be a big factor... Anyways what I need is a text looking exactly or very similar to the one visible on the attached picture. Could You guys help me on this one? I bet it's quite easy I just lack the experience to obtain the right effect. Thanks!

Nevermind just figured it out by myself

Now it doesnt work anymore...

 

1 What I did was open a picture on which I want to place a text

2 copy layer

3 place text

4copy layer

5 click on the previous layer

6 add gausian blur

 

But now blur applies to the whole picture instead of just text and it is not visible through layers

 

Did I change something in the options maybe?

 

Please help...

Welcome.

In order to blur just your text, make sure that the text layer is the top one in the stack

Ensure the layer you want to blur is HIGHLIGHTED in the Layers Window Stack order is not the defining criteria for effects. The active layer focus is.

Step 2 should be Add New Layer, not copy.
