Steved1 Posted January 14, 2013 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Hi all this is my first post and I am new to Paint.net I am trying to get some text with a transparent background to put on glass as an image in sketchup but am having problems. I have attached an image showing what I ended up with when I made a transparent background However when I export it (as a PNG or Jpeg) it has a white background. Any ideas! From viewing your thumb I can see that you do have a transparent background with your black text, because your background shows checkering. It will look like you have a white background, if you are viewing it on a page that is white. If you view it on a background that is say, red, then you will see that the text will be on a red background. I hope that makes sense? But - this only applies in Paint.NET and if you are transferring the image to another programme you may have encountered compatibility problems. pdnnoob Posted January 14, 2013 Share Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) as a .jpeg image, it will have a white background because .jpeg doesn't support transparency. As a .png image, it will look like it has a white background in the preview, but it's lying to you. It's really transparent. Make sure you save as a .png or another filetype that supports transparency.
