Eskie Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I installed the plugin enabling me to open psd files, and have been working on a psd file that was created in photoshop. I've been able to make various changes, but I can't see how to edit a text layer? I presume there must be a way? Quote
pdnnoob Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 You need to rasterize the text layer in photoshop before you import to paint.net because paint.net does not support text layers at this time. Ego Eram Reputo Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Paint.NET deals with text by converting them to groups of pixels (rasterization). This happens once the text is committed to the layer it is typed on. So once text is committed to the layer, it ceases to be editable with the Paint.NET text tool. Where does this leave your PS text layer? Probably with a collection of pixels on the layer. I haven't got PS so am unsure if you need to convert the layer (as pdnnoob said), or if it will be automatically converted to a bitmap by the plugin. I suspect the latter will occur. With the character(s) converted to bitmaps the only way to edit them is to delete the pixels and retype the text.
