Visual
I sincerely hope everyone comes out from this storm in one piece. Life is too short and precious. We are all hoping for the best for everyone, even those who are not part of this forum.
HELEN
Unfortunately, we're in the storm, but nothing serious has happened to our family or our surrounding neighbors. Just lots of rain and gusts of wind. Cities next to us have been flooded and some are in state of emergency. My older sister was let from work early due to the storm. Lots of people lost power. Luckily, we still have electricity. I just hope families will stay safe wherever Sandy's passing by. Sozo
Work was called off for both Mon and Tues for me, but aside from wind and rain not much has happened so far. Wind is supposed to pick up over the next 6 hours or so though.
NinjaManDan21
Yeah my family just packed up all our stuff and we are on the road, finally making the long awaited move from VA back to CO. jim100361
I don't know what damage has occurred in the area. Right now we're without commercial power, though I have a 5000 watt Coleman generator running right now. Power company reports most of my town is without power, and some of the adjacent town where I work. We closed work yesterday at 2:00pm and I'm not sure if we have work today or not as I'm not sure we have power there or not. Otherwise, things here at home is fine. EDIT: At work now, sitting in the parking lot. Seems we have power here so luckily we should have work. Pixey
So happy you guys are OK - we are watching the incredible photos of the devastation. Old mother nature can sure pack a wallop. Stay safe and hope things can get back to some normality soon. HELEN
The sun came out and the rain and wind is gone. No damage, either. Thank God! jim100361
Same here. My daughter also called a bit after 11:00am and informed me the power was restored at home.
DarkShock
It's crazy how much chaos a category 1 hurricane can cause. Just imagine if it were worse. My best wishes to the people caught in the hurricane. I live in Florida so I've experience a few hurricanes in my lifetime. pdnnoob
Sorry to hear that, john I have a friend in New York who says his shop lost a few million dollars of equipment in the storm along with several cars, one of which was brand new (an Aston Martin, he says). I hope others fared better than he did, but I doubt he was the worst case. I wonder how the insurance companies are doing...
