Rick Brewster
The uninstall functionality works just fine. What kind of error are you getting? Crazy Man Dan
Well, I know you don't have to pay for it. The Alpha versions expire because they are coming out with new Alpha builds about every week or so, and they want to make sure people test with the newest versions. However, I can't help you with why the installer is not functioning properly. That's outside my area of knowledge. Rick Brewster
So when you go to Add/Remove programs, and click on Paint.NET, and then Change/Remove, that is when you get this crash? I ask because that looks like a different type of crash. And Dan is right, it's still free. It's not a 30-day trial, it's a 30-day "timebomb." We don't want people using old alphas and betas well after the final version is available Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html

Rick Brewster
Ok then you must have something very corrupted or confused on your system, and Paint.NET is probably the least of your troubles  Do installers for other programs work at all? Rick Brewster
When you install the CleanUp utility it should show up at Start -> Programs -> Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. I seem to remember it having a rather terse install and I had to hunt down where it made its shortcut icon. S0S
Any advice at all? I have a piece of advice for you, if you are running an XP system and know someone you can trust, have you considered using "Remote Assistance"? It sure would be easier on you, having someone try to look at what is going on with your system and might be able to help you out more in-depth.
