goldenskyhook Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 I used to use Paint shop pro, years ago and it had a nice little screen shot function. Does paint.net do this as well? Quote
ventor1 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 No, but it does not need to. Do a Cntrl-Shift &Print Screen to capture your screen shot. Then open up a new document in PDN. The document size will be the same size as the image you have captured to your clipboard. Then simply paste it in! Quote

Goonfella Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Or if you have Win7 Home Premium, or Vista even, you can use the Snipping Tool that comes with the OS. For a full screen capture it is easier to just use Print Screen option though. Quote Please feel free to visit my Gallery on PDNFans And my Alternatives to PDN
lampeatdirect Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I'm also trying to break my addiction to my legally-purchased-but-overinstalled Paint Shop Pro 6.02. Let me explain a little bit more about why new Paint.Net users miss this functionality (and cringe when we have to use Ctrl+Print Screen). In Paint Shop Pro, you could set up screen capturing using these options: Invocation:On keypress (e.g., Shift + F11) On timer (e.g., every 2 seconds, or once after 6 seconds) Scope:Current window, full screen or selection (made at time of invocation) With mouse pointer or without As users of Snaggit or Microsoft OneNote know, the ability to grab just a window or a section of the screen is a huge timesaver: it keeps you from having to "recrop" the image in your paint program, or open a huge paint window to cleanly crop what you want. The ability to capture mouse pointers and take a timed screenshot is also great when you're trying to grab a picture of a screen that's "screen print resistant" (i.e., what "screen print" captures is slightly different than what goes to the clipboard. Anyway - I hope this helps. Mark me down as "very interested" in this too!!! Quote
Rick Brewster Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Cool stuff. However, I'm just going to be honest and say I'm not going to be adding anything like this to paint.net. I'm one guy and I have to prioritize my time. You can probably find a separate/external program that can do a lot of this. Window Clippings, for instance, is pretty fantastic, although I'm not sure if it does the timer stuff.
