The reste is transparent) 3rd layer: use the photo flood fill effect to fill it with the text. set the 3rd layer mode to lighten... PS: for the text use black heavy font on white background. Size it as small as possible to have more black than white... Photo flood fill allows you to adapt the text in a way to balance black/white. Because only black will let see the original image.
