RedRocker227
Yeah, so I'm extremely new to Paint.NET, so I need some easy to use plugins, but ones that are still just as effective and useful as more advanced ones. Has anyone got any recommendations? By the way, I'm talking about effects plugins, not the other type (which I always forget the name of )
Red ochre
Hello RedRocker227, welcome . Boltbait's plugin pack is probably a good place to start Boltbaits plugins . The other type of plugins are 'filetype' - specialist ones to open non standard file types! 1 Quote Red ochre Plugin pack.............. RedRocker227
Woah, BoltBait's on here? I know him through some other site that's completely unrelated! Anyway, I'll try it. Thanks

Red ochre
Last time this question was asked, BoltBait said "codelab" and locked up the topic D: - codelab is the best plugin, but I think redrocker wanted suggestions for useful and easy to use - so not mine then! RedRocker227
Hey, um, how do I give someone reputation? These forums are quite different from others that I go on, and I can't find a button for it. I wanna give Red ochre some
delpart
In the lower right hand corner for the post you wish to give reputation to is a small green ball with a plus symbol in it. That will add reputation for the post and the poster combined. As illustrated in this picture: 1 Quote *** Gallery at PDN-Fans
delpart
Red O' deserves lots of Reps' but I can't help looking @ his avatar and think that the Hand in Hand text could look better diagonally ? Sort of like a 6th finger ... ?? A "drive by" critique? Of course with 6 fingers involved I now have lines from The Princess Bride floating through my head ... Ego Eram Reputo
The best plugins are pinned to the top of the plugin forum. In this context, best does not necessarily mean easy to use however. I always wonder why new users leap towards plugins . There are a wealth of tools and techniques to learn in a default installation of Paint.NET (press F1 if you don't believe me). I summary: install the plugins you need to use (for a particular technique or tutorial for e.g.). Installing plugins because someone else thinks they're brillig is not reason enough. I know, but I am a very quick learner, so I have tried and figured out most of the current features, so I'd kind of like some more to experiment with. I won't just install any old plugin either, and I will delete it if I don't get along with it. Ego Eram Reputo
...and figured out most of the current features... That is an outstanding effort! I find the different selection modes hard to become au fait with. Not to mention the blend modes..., Pyrochild was right. His plugins are the best. And so are BoltBaits. So are MadJik's, Red Ochre's, Tanel's, Ed Harvey, I Like Pi's, null54's & Simon Brown's. And everyone knows that Kris VDM's plugins are also the best. Very few of mine are the best, but some of them are. (this list goes on and on........) The very BEST plugin is the one that does the job you wanted done. 1 Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
