Heh no problem, it was actually a bug introduced when adding the Ctrl+[ shortcut for the brush width stuff. Turns out that Esc and Ctrl+[ send down the same keycode (27) and you have to do a second check to see if Ctrl is being pressed to distinguish between them (at least with the way all of the stuff in PDN is set up).

I think I have beta one running, I will update on this comp when I can, but I was testing it out, I opened like 70 pictures as new layers, on my 3.7 ghz comp, and just a word of advice, dont try it..I had to crash my system, plus they were big images..like wallpaper size ones.

Rick, I'm running Beta 1 build 3.0.2525.34975 and it says there are no updates?

BTW, the screenshot you give above... is for Beta 1, not Beta 2. ;)

Screenshot, shmeenshot ... :)

As for the updates, the HTTP stack (or whatever it's called) is probably caching the old update manifest. Open this page in IE, http://www.getpaint.net/updates/version ... x86.en.txt , then hit Refresh, and Paint.NET will pick it up on the next attempt. I'm assuming you're in 32-bit Windows XP, English.

Thanks! That did the trick.

One quick problem. I can't open anything in a new window. This is especially important for the types of signatures I do... great additions, but I wish you could open something in a new window.

Hey Rick. If I upgrade to the latest Beta, will I have to reinstall my 'Effects'? I'm relative new to Paint.Net and was wondering about the stability of the new Beta. My belief is that it's darn good.

Many thanks to you and the others who've freely shared of you time and knowledge.

Bill

You shouldn't have to. The updater is blind to these files, it won't remove them and the new version will just pick them up like usual.
