JadedLemon
Can anyone tell me if there is a plug in that will allow me to save 256 Colour bitmaps? The reason I ask is because I am trying to make map tilesets for a particular game that I like to play and they have to be 256 colour bitmaps. I know I could use GIMP, but I don't find it very user-friendly.
Ego Eram Reputo
What you're looking for is the 8-bit option when you save the file as a *.BMP. No plugin required - it's built right in Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker

JadedLemon
Ok I tried it and it all seemed to work for a while, right up until I attempted to import the tile into the map editor. Hopefully this image shack thing works. http://imageshack.us...56problem2.png/ [/img] Uploaded with ImageShack.us I hate Image shack! Anyway the image is of a before and after I load it into the map editor. It was saved as a .bmp, but image shack has changed it automatically to png. HyReZ
Just because your converted file is now a PNG it does not mean that it contains more than 256 colors. If it is converted to GIF it is not possible to contain more that 256 colors. I use a freeware called IrfanView to increase or decrease my image color depth and before doing so, it lets me know how many colors are actually contained within the image. http://www.irfanview.com/ Edited January 25, 2012 by HyReZ

I'm not sure if this will help with the filetype change, but try tinypic.com next time PS If you cross your eyes until the two images match up and focus, it actually looks pretty cool Quote No, Paint.NET is not spyware...but, installing it is an IQ test. ~BoltBait Blend modes are like the filling in your sandwich.
