AhmedElyamani 21 Report post Posted December 7, 2011 Sounds cool, dispite i can't do realistic art, But how do you make sure that it's totally painted, or it only used these effects? even your own wasn't totally painted, it was an Edit to a 3d avatar like your tutorial right ? There's an entry already?" Welcome back, nanet. I vaguely remember seeing your avatar somewhere around here...Hopefully, I can paint up some competition for you. Very nicely done! EDIT: forgot I was actually here to ask a few questions. 1. Are the paintings allowed to be reproductions of images off of google, or should they be completely original? 2. If we are allowed to use stock images as inspiration, are we required to post them as well? Edited December 7, 2011 by pdnnoob
Aislin 28 Report post Posted December 7, 2011 nice to see entry already! looks awesome! as for your questions pdnnoob, yes you may use an example pictures from google or for inspirational use... what I did in my tut and I thought I wrote it above as well: Also you may use a reference picture in the way I used in my tutorials. which means you could get a picture, create a sketch of it (using line tool or pencil or whatever) to create your painting, but, you may not use it in the end result, as for, just manip or edit the original, just line over the basic lines of that image for your own work

yellowman 210 Report post Posted December 14, 2011 (edited) Great competition, I have an old attempt on a portrait, but wasn't satisfied at all with it, and then I realized it is not my style of art, and quitted, is it possible to enter this comp by it? BTW, if I remember correctly, it never been posted on this forum, and I used all the tools mentioned plus 1 or 2 extra effects (shape-3D and Liquify) I really need some feedback. EDIT: spelling correction Edited December 14, 2011 by yellowman
Aislin 28 Report post Posted December 14, 2011 sure... if you have not posted it on the forium and if you did not use more than 2 effects, its okey if nannette also agrees on it ;-)

yellowman 210 Report post Posted December 14, 2011 Great, thanks so much, this my my entry then, If you think it is not qualified as a realistic or for the comp theme and tools, then feel free to disqualified it. BTW, it is an imaginary work, didn't use any photo or reference.
