cannot install Paint.Net 2.72

During install this error message:

Then came another message

There is a problem with this windows Installer package.

A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.

I didnot use the default folder C:\program Files\Paint.Net

but D:\program files\paintdotnet

it seems like but it is different in that the installation

failed and there is no Paint.net key to find with

regedit ! In fact there was no installation...

But maybe the HKLM (or another parent) cannot be written and so the key cannot be created.

Just my 2 cents, though, i'm not the dev.

that could be, and that is why it is not installed.

There is realy no match with Paint.net in the complete registry.

Meaning that the installer is faulty the installation

didnot complete.

Did you try reading the post at the top of this forum titled, "Are you having trouble installing or uninstalling"

yes I have seen that item and I do not see how it compares to my situation.

Here is what I think has happend; The installer created the keys I reported and then later in the process it checked and came with the error messages. Than it removed all the created files as I could see it on my screen, leaving me with no executable.

So is it a matter of permission that had to be given for a new application in .Net framework v 2.0?

I am out of ideas.

The installer is PaintdotNet_247009377.msi
