barbieq25
Oh nice too. A bit of shadow on his feet maybe? Dunno but it is very good. Quote Knowledge is no burden to carry. April Jones, 2012 Gallery My DA Gallery
RedBeard
Oh nice too. A bit of shadow on his feet maybe? Dunno but it is very good. Yes, a little shadowing would really set it off. I'm digging the composition, though. Nicely done, Jim! Quote My Gallery
delpart
Ditto on the shadows ... he seems disconnected from the image. Neat composition idea though overall. Quote *** Gallery at PDN-Fans
HELEN
That's really good. All blended so beautifully, too. It seems that the man is a little big, but maybe it's just me? Oh, and I really enjoyed the pool table on the deck of the ship. You're really good at this! jim100361
Here's the adjusted image: http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n264/CantaLibra/nighttimestroll2.png For some reason I wasn't able to re-do quite to the same degree as the first. The lighting is off a tad from the original (I didn't write down what settings I used) and there's a little detail lost that I wasn't able to duplicate either (I can see the difference when looking at the lights and comparing it to the first submission). As far as the hieght of the man is concerned, I think you are right. I didn't notice this at first, but now that you've pointed it out, when I compare him to the coach I think he is a little taller than what he should be. At this point though, I'll just make note of it and hopefully be a bit more attentive on future pieces. Thanx Edited March 3, 2012 by jim100361
RedBeard
Nice work, Jim! The shadow under the man really gives him a sense of depth and weight. As far as his height, maybe he's just a really tall guy! Overall, I think you did a fantastic job! Quote My Gallery
delpart
Wee bit tall but only because I'm seeing the doorways. Even though I dont live near buildings like that, I have that reference point ... But I dont know how tall those doors are, just what the average ones are here in the US. Giants exist though ... He could simply be this 7 foot tall guy in his old age: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0537631/bio Seen near other people he makes caricature of lots of normal objects. Shadows helped set him into the scene now though. Shame on the lighting. That's annoying when you lose that little bit magic like that. HELEN
Agreed. The shadow really makes the man part of the photo. Very nice. barbieq25
Height is not an issue for me at all because the cobble stones are too large for the doors in that case. Jim, the addition of the shadows just lifts this enormously. A very fine image. Makes me think of Dr Who for some reason. Well done!! Quote Knowledge is no burden to carry. RedBeard
The only other thing I would suggest would be Anti-Aliasing and possibly some mild feathering on the buildings where you cut out the sky. AA and Feather are your best friends. Other than that, this is a brilliant composition, Jim! But, I suppose I could cut it out, but then I'd have to go through all that stuff you just pointed out Here's another piece: http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n264/CantaLibra/2Flowerbulbs2.png Edited March 3, 2012 by jim100361
HELEN
How much cleverer can this get?! This is such an awesome idea. REALLY amazing! HELEN
Such creative ideas! You composed each of them beautifully. I like the mutual painting image-reminded me of Norman Rockwell. delpart
Glad WB bumped this I thought I had made comment ... Oilpainting has a nice aspect to it. Just not sure why my eyes dont like the blend. The concept is really well done though. Just my eyes again. The House comparison is wonderful. On many levels the writers probably are more than a little influenced by this other legendary example from comedy's past. Reflections in time on what people find funny maybe and tons of other direct comparisons of the two can speak volume you dont need to on it's behalf. Rockandroll
First of all: Nice gallery: My favorate so far is the laptop and puzzle image. Nicely done. I also like the idea of the mutual painting but i think it still needs some work. (the womans hair for example). maybe making the woman a bit smaller and putting her closer to her painting would make it more balanced. jim100361
Here's my latest endeavor: As you can see from the enlarged image, I had a bit of a tough time breaking it into layers (some small gaps in the colored layers).
