Rick Brewster
By any chance do you have a program called AllChars installed? Other known conflicting applications that can cause this include incorrectly written keyboard macro utilities, key loggers, spyware, and viruses. This particular symptom is the result of software installing what's known as a "global hook." As part of this global hook, they are not restoring the state of the floating point exception masking flag after they execute.
