yellowman
Why whenever I draw an ellipse with Draw Shape Outline mode I got a small lump on the right edge of the ellipse or circle. It is more noticeable on a large canvas, like 1500 x 1500 or larger, with Bush width of 150 pix or wider. I don't remember that I have this bug before. Thanks. Zagna
Repros for me, easiest to see bigger the outline but it happens even at size 10, just difficult to see. And there's also 2 other kinds of artifacts...
Rick Brewster
Yeah, I can repro this too. I have also noticed this, it seems to only of happened in the last few days. Are you sure it only started happening recently? Maybe there was a change to gdiplus.dll in the last batch of Windows Updates. Maybe there was a change to gdiplus.dll in the last batch of Windows Updates. I can't be 100% sure, but I have been using it a lot on my avatar and the first one was Ok ( this was made a few days ago but the more recent one had the lump ) So went back to the old avatar. Rick Brewster
Apparently GDI+ has cancer ("small lump") Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
yellowman
I remembered last night that I still have the 3.3.6 version on may old XP-SP3 computer And when I tested it, it really does the same thing, looks like I didn't pay attention on this before, I didn't deal with large files because of the small memory. Alsen
Artifacts created with line/curve, rectangle, rounded rectangle, ellipse: The "expected shapes" were created in Visual Studio: http://i.imgur.com/JsBT2.png http://i.imgur.com/5osWQ.png http://i.imgur.com/JOLxk.png http://i.imgur.com/7TyCh.png Edited September 8, 2011 by Alsen
Rick Brewster
Well, hopefully all this silliness goes away when the shapes are rendered using Direct2D instead of GDI+. GDI+ has been such a thorn in my side ... Alsen
The artifacts that appear on the outside of the Line/Curve, Ellipse and Rounded Rectangle can be removed by setting the pen's LineJoin property to Round. I think this will get rid of the "small lump" too. Before: http://i.imgur.com/tQD9R.png After: http://i.imgur.com/j02m0.png Unfortunately I don't know how to remove the artifacts that appear inside the shapes.
