Recycling Old Laptop for Daughter

Recommended Posts

We are re-purposing an old laptop for my daughter. She loves to use MSPaint.

I would like to find an alternate program for her to use that isn't geared for 4 year olds.

Preferably something with layering capability.

In my search, I have found a handful of programs that will not install on the old WinME laptop.

The only one I could get to install was the aforementioned toddler-based software. She is 8boltbait.smile.png

I found a copy of "PaintDotNet_2_72".

The website (can't remember where that was at the moment) said that it supported WinME.

I couldn't get it to install.

I just looked at FileHippo (http://www.filehippo....net/tech/1510/)

and not a single version, all the way back to Paint.NET 2.1b Released: 18 Aug 2005,

says it supports WinME.

Eventually we will upgrade her to a newer laptop of her own.

But until we can afford to do that, we need another alternative.

If there is a version of Paint.net that works, please let me know.

If anyone knows of some other free alternative, please guide me in that direction.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

No version of Paint.NET has ever run on Windows ME. FileHippo is wrong.

Old versions are not provided or supported in any way. Please do not ask for them (it says this in the forum rules, btw).
