Meteor Tutorial

Recommended Posts

Yeah, but how?

Work through the tutorial a few times until you're familiar with it. Then repeat the tutorial with some modification to the settings to see how these affect the overall result. Experiment.

And how do I add the crescent thing when making the sig??

You don't really need the crescent - meteors rarely have 'em boltbait.wink.png You could ask minners71 how they created the circle in this example: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/12667-helio-ignite-sig%c2%a9%c2%ae/page__view__findpost__p__356759

First make anew canvas 400x400 and fill it with black ( this is so you can see the ring as you make it )

Add a new layer and on this make a filled white circle

Resized to 85% (was 600 x 450) - Click image to enlarge1-2.png

now on the same layer use the eclipse selection tool to mark out a circle inside the white circle but closer to one side.

Resized to 85% (was 600 x 450) - Click image to enlarge2-2.png

Just get it roughly right then you can move the selected area around with the move selection (White arrow ) on the tool menu , one down from the top right hand side

once its in position press ctrl and X to cut it out

Resized to 85% (was 600 x 450) - Click image to enlarge3-1.png

then just use gaussian blur at 25 - 30 range

Resized to 85% (was 600 x 450) - Click image to enlarge4.png

and then use the move tool ( Blue arrow )to squash image.

Resized to 85% (was 600 x 450) - Click image to enlarge5.png

Hope this helps never made a tut before.

Thanks for posting that mini tutorial Minners71.

"blue arrow tool" is correctly known as the "Move Tool" :MoveTool: It moves pixels from one location to another.

"white arrow tool" is the "Move Selection Tool" :MoveSelectionTool: This tool differs from the Move Tool in that it changes the selection region without altering anything else.
