I have tried to reinstall Paint.Net several times after I had some computer problems.

I have read the forums, and tried to:

1. Remove Paint.Net entirely and reinstall Paint.Net.

2. Repair Net 4.0

I keep getting this message from my ZoneAlarm Firewall, and I never got it before.

"Paint.net Setup Front End is trying to launch C:\Microsoft.NET\Framework62\v2.0.50727\dw20.exe"

It doesn't matter if I hit accept or deny, I get this warning next:

"Paint.Net Setup Front End has stopped working"

Then I get this error message:

"Error opening file for writing:"

"C:\Users\KOREAN~1\AppData\Local\Temp\pdnsetup\PaintDotNet.Resources.dll"

Can anyone tell me what to do?

I love using Paint.net. I am using Gimp right now because I can't get Paint.net to install, but I much prefer Paint.net.

How do I get Paint.net to install?

Anybody?

Thank you!

Read the solutions provided in this thread:

Note item #9:

9) Disable your antivirus Some antivirus or "internet security" software may interfere with software installations, including Paint.NET's. If you have problems, try turning off your AV software.

Don't forget to turn it back on once Paint.NET is installed!

Yes, please turn off those firewalls and antivirus. They are over protective and do more to make your computer crash than actually protect it.

dw20.exe is the Error Reporting Shim. If you see that, then something's already crashed.
