Xhin
Hi all. Just discovered this place. I make all of my art in paint.net, so I figured I'd post it here. It's all abstract, and made from scratch with paint.net. I only "draw" occasionally (industrialism was made out of a scribble), I use distortion effects like dents to get me the shapes I want. I have a deviantart account here: http://xhin.deviantart.com/ Until I get these hosted on my site, I'm using direct links from there, which occasionally break. I only use a few tools (no plugins so far), but I've discovered hundreds of techniques on how to use them. I'm separating "generations" by points where I learned and practiced a bunch of new techniques at once. Hidden Content: 0th generation (Music set to and named after my art) Sundream Clockwork Empyreal Tempest Hearts & Diamonds Jupiter Unicorn Hidden Content: 1st generation (crystallization and dents) Skyscape War Skybeast Dog King Father Earth Seascape Desertscape Axis Mundi Visitor Empyreal Tempest Sundream The Needle Portent Hidden Content: 2nd generation (Objects made from heavily dented 3-d shapes) Mandala Jurassic Trans-dimensional hipster Amobea Gymnastics Sea Warrior Threat Hidden Content: 3rd generation stuff (Misc techniques) Panspermia Master of Chaos Meaningful Machine Code Stellar Yang First Sight Master of Order Mistress of Color Industrialism Elsewhere Hidden Content: 4th generation (hybrid of object-dents and background dents) Frame of Reference Circuits (actual shapes made in Harmony, everything else edited and adjusted in paint.net) Hollow Girl Album DNA Slaves of Reference Hidden Content: 5th generation (Using Framing techniques) Lotus Blossom Tapestry Dawnchosen Silver Plate Gold Plate Worldmakers Matryoshka Matryoshka dolls are those russian dolls that fit inside each other.) Roots & Seeds Hidden Content: 5th Generation (Light backgrounds seeded with interesting objects) Skygears Calligraphy Highrise Jewelers Hidden Content: 7th generation (more experimentation, polar inversion/tile reflection/relief used a lot) Birth of Time & Space Duskdream Maelstrom Hearts & Diamonds Dawndream Jupiter Clockwork Untitled Hidden Content: 8th Generation (Flint and Polar Inversions) In this generation, I used polar inversions a lot, plus overused a few objects I'd made before that I call "Flint". Rebirth Sandsowers Unicorn Spacecube Flint Waves Clover Jewels Plasma Kingdom Blood Arrows Bat Flight Gold Worlds Point The Way Vortex Hidden Content: 9th generation (Blue/purple webbing) With the exception of the song image and jellyfish tale, everything in this generation was made by "webbing" one dented gradient. The webbing technique formed the basis of generations 11-13. Nova Eye Web Flame Strike Many Moons Yggdrasil Fetus Worldbubble Unnamed (was going to be used for a song which was also unfinished) Jellyfish Tale Warning: Massive. (1398x1044, both too wide AND too tall for a desktop image) I don't even want to put a preview here, so direct link: http://imageshack.us...02/awesomeo.png Hidden Content: 10th generation (Simple inversions / Noise) Aside from simplifying 8th-gen techniques, I also experimented around with the noise effect in "Platypus", "Mayan", "Sky Confetti", and "Seafloor". Platypus Mayan Sky Confetti Stonebloom The Core Seafloor Gold Warrior Hidden Content: 11th generation (Webs and jewels / Noisy Inversions) This generation is marked by the use of simple webbing and jewel-objects I've made before. I also messed around with the noise techniques in the previous generation to make "Greenhouse", "Mind of the Snail", "Stained Glass", and "A Thousand Rainbows". Jewelry Threaded Gears Flame Webbing Autumn Greenhouse Jewel of a Thousand Rainbows Eye of the Dragon A Twisted Sunset Stained Glass Mind of the Spider Mind of the Snail Hidden Content: 12th generation (Complex webs / More color) Same as the last generation, but I used more complex webs, added more color, added in some new techniques, and came up with a method for each piece in this style. To Hell and Back Bridge to Infinity Summer (will be renamed whenever I finish my current song project) Privileged Peacock Hidden Content: 13th generation (Two-color / More objects) Same as 12th, but pieces now have two contrasting color schemes and I use more objects that I've previously made besides the jewel (I love that jewel though! ) Fire and Ice Edge of the Universe Web of Worlds Mosaic Hidden Content: 14th generation Nostalgia Plethora (attempting to make an older style with new techniques) Shoreline Solar Wind Strata Underground Hidden Content: 15th generation Enlightenment Fractal Jewelry Julia Encore Lullaby Oracle Pendant Hidden Content: 16th generation Cosmic Egg Drop Earth Jewel Flame Staff Back to the Heartland Many Worlds Meteor Wheel Shield 16-1 16-2 Hidden Content: 17th generation Cosmos Firewater Gateway Jigsaw Sun Marble Nest Egg Pink 17-1 Starburst The Storm The Storm 2 Wheel Sea Hidden Content: 18th generation Lattice 18-1 Nebula Storm Nimbus Treeworld Stormbringers Wood and Bronze Hidden Content: 19th generation Bolt Crime of Passion End of Paradise Interstellar Plume Painted Sky Sky Wizard Hidden Content: 20th generation 20-1 20-2 20-3 20-4 20-5 20-6 20-7 20-8 20-9 20-10 20-11 20-12 20-13 20-14 20-15 20-16 Swans Hidden Content: 21st generation 21-1 21-2 21-3 21-4 21-5 21-6 21-7 21-8 21-9 Hidden Content: 22nd generation Psychedelic Snowflake 22-1 22-2 22-3 22-4 22-5 Peppers 22-6 22-7 Hidden Content: 23rd generation 23-1 23-2 23-3 23-4 23-5 23-6 23-7 Hidden Content: 24th generation 24-1 24-2 24-3 24-4 24-5 24-6 24-7 24-8 24-9 Hidden Content: 25th generation 25-1 25-2 25-3 Hidden Content: 26th generation 26-1 26-2 SO MANY GODDAMN CUBES WITH A CYLINDER OF PSYCHEDELIC LOVE VOMIT IN THE MIDDLE 26-3 Warehouse 26-4 Hidden Content: 27th generation Dragon Egg 27-1 27-2 Pulse Rigel The Sun Underworld Hidden Content: 28th generation 28-1 28-2 28-3 28-4 28-5 Hidden Content: 29th generation (++CURRENT++) 29-1 29-2 29-3 29-4 29-5 Hidden Content: The House A while back, I looked at the somethingawful thread that created the Slenderman mythos. Basically, you had to take a photo and photoshop it into being something supernatural. I decided to do this with photos of the interior of houses: HATE (Technically an abstract, but fits well with the theme) Hallway Source: http://upload.wikime...ns/5/54/Hallway,_Palacio_Real,_Madrid.jpg Bedroom Source: http://files.fatakat.../1255815821.jpg Kitchen Source: http://annashouses.com/wp- content/uploads/2011/01/kitchen2.jpg Living Room Source: http://upload.wikime...mons/0/07/Hotel -suite-living-room.jpg Shower Source: http://www.trendir.c...ower-column.jpg Hidden Content: Sketch Collabs I have a couple friends that make more traditional drawings. My friend viovis makes drawings with charcoal, while my friend kristi makes digital drawings. I've improved (imo!) some of their drawings here: = Viovis = Source: http://hairypiano.co...11/rickross.png Source: http://hairypiano.co...gmoon3thumb.png Source: http://hairypiano.co...2011/orion4.png Source: http://hairypiano.com/wank1.png Source: http://hairypiano.co...july2011/wm.png Source: http://img52.imagesh...6/suziemoon.png = Kristi = Source: http://i.imgur.com/mhnUx.jpg Source: http://img843.images...32881440599.jpg Her source: http://www.dailyartf...7/Job-Alphonse- Mucha-1896.jpg = Other = There was a photomanipulation contest on a site I frequent where you have to manipulate a digital picture of an island.
