Transparent text box

This one?

~transparent box~ (new layer)

1. set color to black with alpha set to 100 (click "more" in color window)

2. use rectangle tool :RectangleTool: to make box

~text~ (new layer)

3. set color to white

4. use text tool to add text in your transparent box

~white line~ (new layer)

5. use line tool with size set to 1 to draw white line. hold shift while placing lines to keep them vertical

~white box~ (new layer)

6. use rectangle tool to make box. hold shift to constrain to a square

Use move tool :MoveTool: to position objects as necessary

7. :MergeLayerDown: Merge layers and you're done!

EDIT: forgot the Microsoft text

~Microsoft text~ (new layer)

1. set color to black

2. add text

3. use outline object plugin to create white outline around text

Thank you sooo much! :)

I did all that. However, the box wasn't filled with that dark grey colour. Should I use the bucket for that?

And how do I draw that box so that the lower horizontal line becomes white? I draw a white line over the box's bottom border?

Make sure you follow the instructions exactly...especially when I say to add a new layer. The new layers allow you to adjust the opacity of the objects on the layers.

To make the white border, just use the line tool set to 1 brush size. Zoom in if needed.
