Joe Mobley
I'm working in Paint.Net and my Comodo firewall pops open with Paint.Net trying to make changes to the registry. Several changes. I have not updated Paint.Net, Windows, etc. recently. If you have any ideas or thoughts, I would appreciate your input. Thanks in advance. pyrochild
Paint.NET uses the registry to store the MRU list and thumbnails (ie, File > Open Recent) as well as remembering things like window positions and tool settings. These are things the registry is there for, and are not a cause for concern. Quote ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it! Joe Mobley
Thanks for the feedback. I don't remember getting firewall alerts from using PDN. Rick Brewster
Making changes to the registry is hardly a cause for alarm. Your firewall seems to be a bit over zealous. Joe Mobley
Rick, Yea, I thought it was a bit unusual. I had been using PDN with no problem, after about 45 minutes I started getting Comodo messages. I will do a Malwarebytes scan later today. Thanks for the input.
