Kennedy757
OK. I see I have a "Illipse Select" and a "Rectangle Select" but what do I do if I need to select and cut custom shapes? I'm attaching a sample of what I'm trying to do. I need to cut out the centers of the letters "a", "d", and "e". Thanx!
pdnnoob
how did you cut everything else out in the first place? If you used some text and magic wand, did the text have holes as well? Kennedy757
hey thanx for responding. i used this tutrial here on the forums. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/14617-image-in-text/ as you can see, it does not recognize the holes in the letters. he went back and used illipse since he only had a capital "B" to do. again, thanx for any help! trying to learn! Sarkut
When creating the selection from the plain black text, hold down the Shift key when using the Magic Wand.
pdnnoob
alpha mask...use it. Make black text on white background, select all and hit ctrl+c to copy. On layer with image, use alpha mask with "import from clipboard selected". If it is deleting the part with the text, check "invert".
