Paint.NET is getting noticed!

Recommended Posts

Why the bloody potato are you bringing that up again? :-P

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

With good reason. Red Eye Removal in Paint.NET isn't very good.

Anyway who cares, they're pimping Paint.NET to a huge audience, which I'm fine with.

http://developers.slashdot.org/article. ... reshold=-1

This article has been written with a emphasis on Rick's "Backspaceware" issues recently.

Congrats Rick!

Coding4Fun - Holiday Gift Guide - 2007 Edition

Scroll down to the middle of the page, it's in the Software Tools category, between Reflector and the XNA Game Studio.

Edit: saw the link in Coding Horror.

No. Way. I've just seen Bob. And... *poof!*—just like that—he disappears into the mist again. ~Helio

Why not fix it then?

That's what I was thinking. But as I said in another thread...

"Every time someone says "that can't be hard," Rick sighs, rolls his eyes, and wonders why he didn't become a doctor like his mom wanted him to. :-)"

Y'know, I use StumbleUpon, and one of my registered interests is freeware. I frequently stumble upon lists of freeware apps for all sorts of uses, including image utilities. Paint.NET is frequently on on these lists, and if it isn't, I give the site a Thumbs Down, if it is, Thumbs Up. Just doin' my part. 8)

Not really an article or review per se, but this topic from the MediaMonkey forums is attracting some nice attention... and new users.

http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23273

MediaMonkey, as you may guess from the name, is a media player built for the Windows platform. Well, I say 'media player', but really it's only a music player/library, though you won't see me complaining.

Unlike most free image editors, Paint.NET supports layers and has an actions manager.
Is this a shout out to pyro's ScriptLab?

No, they're just referring to the History window.
Hmm, IMHO, neither ScriptLab nor the History window can be classified as an "Actions manager." I think maybe whoever wrote that is slightly delusional...

Oh well. It's good press in any event.
