testerp Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Does anyone know if paint.net can be ran from a thumbdrive or does it need to be installed on a computer? I would like to bring the program with me on a thumdrive and use it on public computers and other computers where I don't have admin rights to install it. Thanks. Quote

testerp Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 Thanks for the link. Lots of good info there. One thing I didn't see is if I need to be an administrator to install the paint.net software. If not, I could just install it on whichever public computer I am using. Quote
pyrochild Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 You generally need to be an admin to install any software on any computer. Even if you didn't, or if the public computer gave access to admin accounts, it's pretty rude to just go installing things on computers that aren't yours. Go with the portable apps. testerp Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 Do the plugins work with the portable version? Quote
Sarkut Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 (edited) Yes. You have to install them in the Effects folder of the portable installation. Edited October 11, 2010 by Sarkut Quote
