Print multiple images per sheet

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to do something I could do very simply on WinXP, but can't (yet) do with Win7. I want to print, say, four different images at 90x130mm each on one A4 sheet. I've tried selecting the images, and clicking print in the images folder, which opens Paint.net and a print dialogue, but will only allow me to print one image per sheet. It's the same if I just use Paint.net directly. With XP I could print from Windows which had a dialogue allowing me to have all my images on one sheet, saving paper.

I don't want to have to fiddle with layers etc - just a quick way of printing stuff efficiently. Many thanks.

First you need to know what file type of image you are printing (in this example, we'll pretent the images are .png format). If you hit the start button (in Windows 7), and type in "Default Programs", it will bring up a list of default programs. Click on "Windows Photo Viewer" and then "Choose defaults for this program". Check the checkbox for the filetype of the image you are trying to print (in this example, we are using .png image files) and then click "Save" at the bottom. This will reroute your print request through Windows Photo Viewer, which allows you to print multiple images per page at one time. Afterward, if you still want those images to open by default in Paint.net, you'l have to go back into Default Programs and switch the .png (or whatever filetype you changed) back to Paint.net. I hope this helps (and saves you the half hour I just spent trying to figure out how to do this). :)

This thread is almost four years old Pamela.  That means we shouldn't add to the discussion because it's probably out-of-date.
