Anyhow... solution#1 add a new layer under your text and above your gradient, then draw your second gradient. Go to the new layer's properties and change the blend mode. solution#2 click "more" on your color window and drop the alpha of one of your colors (primary or secondary) to zero, then draw your gradient. It should fade from your visible color to whatever was there previously.
