mszlazak
The following png file causes IE8 to render the blurred image with a black back-ground in the portions of the blur between the original shape which sharply ends at the transparent areas outside the blur region. This image shows up correctly with the black background sections transparent in Firefox 3.6. How can I fix this?

mszlazak
Don't use IE. There's something funky with the way IE shows images. It's for the web so no choice. But I found a work around. I saved the .JPG image as a .BMP file then opened it in regular Paint that comes with Windows. From there I saved it as a .JPG and it now works fine with FF & IE. Originally the problem occurred when saving the image as .JPG or .PNG from Paint.Net One file format worked in one browser but not the other. The reverse happen when I changed to the other file format. Edited August 20, 2010 by mszlazak

az2000
This is a IE thing unrelated to Paint.NET. I'm curious about one thing. The OP said: ==== I saved the .JPG image as a .BMP file then opened it in regular Paint that comes with Windows.
