Shaped Gradient v1.5

Recommended Posts

Hopefully this will work, I am trying to come up with a way to do a gradient on the Text Formations Circle Text v1.2 plugin

working on a football helmet for a client, btw n d, nice work, I greatly appreciate it very much.

Without trying to derail this thread, have you seen this tutorial by @welshblue : http://forums.getpai...-viking-helmet/ ?

I made this using shaped gradient!

Any news on where the developer went? This is an awesome plugin! If there were ways to add multiple colors to the shaped gradient, that would be awesome!

P.S. Sorry for the bump, but this plugin deserves more attention.

Thanks Ego Eram Reputo,

I've found out that much....

The problem is that I've downloaded and installed all the different versions of the plugin (one at a time) and when I then fired up PDN and Shaped Gradient is not there!!!

The version that Red Ochre suggested was 1.3....which is the last one I tried....no success...

So the question is - How do I fix this?

Should I uninstall PDN? If so, how do I make sure that I can re-instate all the plugins that I have?

Any ideas?

Regards

Greg

I downloaded the one linked to in the first post of this thread (shapegradient1_5.zip)

Unzipping it gives you the file shapegradient.dll.

Move/copy this to your Paint.NET/Effects folder and restart Paint.NET.

Q: you're using the latest version of Paint.NET right? (3.5.10)

Even with a powerful CPU and a lot of RAM, this takes a lot of time to render (using a 2400 x 1800 picture)

Trying it out anyways!

This is what I've done:

2400 x 1800 blank picture

B&W gradient diagonal

Pixelate effect on maximum

selected a part of the pixelated part with the wand

applied the shaped gradient tool on it

resized down 1/3 to get a nice look (now 800 x 600)

neat!

That is exactly the process I followed each time....with every version (obviously one at a time and deleting one before installing another)

But it just doesn't appear....

Yes I am using Paint.NET right? (3.5.10)

Any ideas?

Can you post a screenshot of your Effects folder, showing the path to the folder and the contents (as much as you're able to show)?

Ok ....took a screenshot as requested.

Hopefully this is what you need....

Greg

You appear to be in the Paint.NET folder... you need to navigate to the Effects folder INSIDE the Paint.NET folder.

The one I circled with red

post-52619-0-11265500-1343753979_thumb.j

so you have this after:

(Stay in the C:/ Drive)

Correct. Greg you have the file shapegradient.dll inside the Paint.NET folder. It needs to be in the Paint.NET/Effects/ folder.

Fixed.

As @n d hasn't been around for a few years, I've added the zipped *.dll to the first post in this thread.
