BoltBait & Illnab1024 Gradient Plugin (UPDATED!) v3.0

Recommended Posts

Ever think of using an enumeration instead of "magic" numbers?

public enum GradientType
{
   Horizontal,
   Vertical,
   Radial,
   DiagonalNWtoSE,
   ... etc ...
}

Nah...I have memorized the numbers, anyway. Too much for me to put in a GUI anyway...I am a minimalist of typing/coding...

I guarantee you will make a mistake eventually :) And then it will be very difficult to debug when all you see are 5's and 6's instead of friendly names ...

Plus, Visual Studio 2005 eliminates 90% of the typing on stuff like this with it's typing completion and whatnot.

If it was hard to write it should be hard to read...

Besides, I do all of my coding in Codelab, which doesn't exactly have command completion.

:D

Oh, by the way, Illnab1024 and BoltBait ...

You really should put a license in there with the source code. I prefer MIT, which is what Paint.NET is licensed under, but you of course have the right to choose whatever license you prefer (it's your code after all!).

Un-sticky'd because, well, there's a gradient tool in 3.0.

...that still doesn't do HSV gradients. :P

(Not that anyone has ever used one) :D

It's still very useful, but for beginners it can be messy to see a gradient tool and a gradient plugin.

It's just Un-sticky'd.

9) Don't respond to very old threads. Also known as "reviving" or "resusitating" old/dead threads. Also called "necroposting" (eww). If there has been no discussion in a thread for, say, 3 months ... then it is dead. Do not reply to it -- pretend like it is locked. If you reply to it, then the thread will be immediately locked and your post may be deleted.

Don't post on old threads.

I downloaded the zip and there are like 16 things in the folder. What do I add to the effects folder? None of them are dll's anyway.

"That's because the zip is the source code."

Well the DLL link has a 404 error.
