Mikey
It would be helpful to add an integrated screen capture to the 'Acquire' menu, much like PSP. Also, it would be nice to be able to change an images color depth.
BoltBait
Any time you want to capture the screen, simply press the PrtSc key. Then, start Paint.net and press Ctrl-V. Mikey
Of course, but I'd like a bit more control than that affords. Entire desktop vs. active window vs. defined area, with or without cursor, etc...
Rick Brewster
You can crop it after you paste it. Paint.NET is not a screen capture tool though -- the work to enable a feature like that just is not worth it when the built-in facilities Windows provides, along with simple selection + cropping, are complete and simple to use anyway. trickman
Yeah, there are screen capture programs which can do the trick. In PdN 3.0 you can press Ctrl+Alt+V to paste in new tab =)
TommyCarlier
I developed a screen capture application a while ago. It's freeware, and you can download it here.

morsub4u
I believe windows does this already. Try holding SHIFT+Print Screen or ALT+Print Screen. This will capture ONLY the active window. Just pressing the Print Screen button should capture the entire screen. It's been a while since I've played with it but I'm sure you can find more information with a google search. Good luck!
