csm725
I recently installed a Win7 theme and have a simple question - is it possible to turn off PdN's Win Vista/7 look so it looks as if it is being run in an XP environment? Simon Brown
Do you mean the uxtheme type? I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but Window->Translucent toggles the client-area glass.
csm725
Well, I patched the uxtheme, should I restore it? And by the way, this is what I mean: Quote My deviantART | Sig Battles | My Tutorials | csm725.com Click to enter or vote in the official Paint.NET competitions! Simon Brown
You could try reading an article on editing themes to see if you can replace that glass replacement, but I don't think it's possible to disable Paint.NET's main window "glass" short of turning aero off or applying a shim. By the way, any ideas on this issue: [link] Quote My deviantART | Sig Battles | My Tutorials | csm725.com Click to enter or vote in the official Paint.NET competitions! Rick Brewster
If you really want, you can force any application to run with the Classic look. Right click on your Paint.NET shortcut, go to Properties, then Compatibility. Check the box that says "Disable visual themes" (and then click OK, of course). I've used this trick with the documentation viewer that came with Visual Studio 2008, because otherwise it had horrible flickering issues. Unfortunately, I just tried this with PDN and it doesn't seem to work ... YMMV, I guess.
