How can I do transparent gradient?

This is a small test:

There is a toggle in the Tool Bar when the gradient tool is active. The two options are Color mode and Transparent mode.

how come the iamge I posted not display in actual size (500x150)?

you need to use photobucket to host it or simular then copy the "direct link" code to the little picture frame that you see in the post editor :)

Nice image though, well done, could do with some feathering to remove the jaggied edges ;)

Hiya,

I used this tutorial years ago, and it was very helpful indeed.

Coming back today I have noticed that and the images are no longer available.

I would like to know what they are as on some of the images it displays settings like the trail settings, the bevel settings, AA's Assistant, curves etc.

Thanks :)

Very nice indeed!  I tried recreating this yesterday and the result didn't come out right.  I knew it had to do with 'Trail' settings and 'Curves' settings.

Perfect example of how a picture is truly worth a thousand words!

Thank you Drew for supplying the pictures and EER for fixing the tutorial!
