alembic
Hi, Is there a way to change the properties of a font (size, bold, color, etc) after the pdn has been saved? Thanks, Josh ps - And might I just say... Paint.Net is a great application!
pipp92
just if you have the font on its own layer, then you could delete this layer, make a new one and change all properties otherwise no. Quote Personal Gallery
alembic
thanks - will use that method - a bit clunky but it works
Goonfella
There is also Simon Brown`s Editable Text plug in. It`s part of this pack but the dll files are separate so you are able to install only the one`s you need. alembic
thanks goonfella - i just tried it out but get an error - contents of 'pdncrash.log' below. not sure how it's supposed to work though - i went to Effects > Tools > Editable Text... - and that's when paint.net crashes i assume the "..." after 'Editable Text' means that a dialog box comes up - is that correct? not sure if i installed it correctly - the download from the posting had dll's for the various tools in the Effects folder and something in the Filetypes folder - to install, i closed paint.net - then just copied the files to the Effects and Filestypes folder in ...\programfiles\paint.net - then opened paint.net any idea of the problem? or should i just email the log to crashlog... as it says? thank you Josh ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This text file was created because Paint.NET crashed. Sarkut
The crashing may be the result of using the plugin with an outdated version of Paint.NET. The current Paint.NET version is v3.5.5. You have v3.36. I just tried Editable Text on my Paint.NET, and it didn't cause a crash. However, it also doesn't seem to be working. Another possibility re: the crashing is if the SBCommon.dll wasn't installed in the Effects folder when the plugin file was. Sarkut
Click Help -> Check for updates. I don't have that menu item, nor is it shown here. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/HelpMenu.html Is it something that shows up when there is an update available? csm725
Then go to the Paint.NET download site and download 3.5.5, it will auto-uninstall v3.36. Sarkut
Never mind my previous query, I see that it is a menu item in v3.36.

Sarkut
Okay. Tried again. The plugin does work for me. Previously, I was inputting the text so that it was being rendered off-canvas. Edited May 16, 2010 by Sarkut
alembic
Excellent! I had the nagging feeling that I should upgrade... Thanks for your replies. This really is a fine application - and one of the few 'donate here' buttons i'll be clicking - and might i just say, fine forum support as well. Cheers
