Alright, as my psychic abilities are a bit low today, you're going to have to give us some more details...,

What OS are you using XP, Vista or Win7 (32 bit or 64 bit?)?

What service packs are installed?

Which incarnation of the .NET framework is installed?

How far does the installation get?

Hi, I had the same problem. Installer would almost complete, but backs up/rolls back and completely uninstall. It looked like when the file associations are being made in the registry, it some how had an error. Suspected that McAfee might be blocking the reassociations of extensions to paint.net (i have recently changed McAfee to be in high secure mode) and it turned out to be true. When i reinstalled after disabling McAfee access protections, it worked. Error seems to occur when a "access denied" condition occurs i guess. I hope this helps.

Once you have paint.net installed and working, just remember...,

Don't forget to turn it (your anti-virus software) back on once Paint.NET is installed!

Dear moderator

I had not diabled antivirus software while installing the paint.net.So there is no question of starting again.

Instead of standard installation I used custom-and installed in different directory. paint.net is working fine

More info is required. Telling us that you "cannot use it any way" does not help us to help you.

Does it install?
