aprmike
That worked great, thanks Rick! Also what happens when the version expires, and why does it expire? Thank you.
Rick Brewster
When it expires, it stops working. The reason for this is that I don't want people using pre-release alpha and beta builds well after the final release is available. I get people reporting bugs to me saying, "Dammit fix this!" with a crash reporting saying "Paint.NET v2.1 Beta 2" and their problem has already been fixed for months. aprmike
OK thats great, I guessed it might be something like that.
Rick Brewster
This is not an unusual way to do it. A lot of pre-release software is time bombed in this manner. For those who do not want to have to worry about the timebomb, they can use the latest final release. Right now, that is v2.1b. Once we are finished with v2.5, it will not be timebomed.
