I'd end up writing a bunch of code and UI and getting translations for something that nobody will ever use or care about. The math is easy, sure, but there's more too it than that. Just divide the KB by 5 and that'll give you the rough # of seconds to download with a 56K modem. Also, this is not something that a plugin can do.
