Hello, and welcome to the culmination of months’ worth of work, determination, and perseverance. Welcome to SpreadPaint.NET, the first community driven place on the Internet dedicated to the promotion of free image and graphics editor Paint.NET. This momentous site will hopefully be recorded as a milestone in the history and culture of Paint.NET fans and communities across the globe.

Being community driven, SpreadPaint.NET was envisioned to have the community at the heart and as such the design is purely based on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook, the official Paint.NET community, and the potential for other Paint.NET fan sites and networks to emerge.

As I have mentioned, I also truly hope that SpreadPaint.NET becomes a part of the history and culture of Paint.NET. If you are new to the software or if you haven’t dived into it, it can be hard to understand just how truly diverse the Paint.NET community is. From highly erudite members capable of pushing the envelope in artwork and programming to real people solving common image editing and getting their feet wet for the very first time in design, the Paint.NET community is the true selling point of Paint.NET.

So, community: live up to the expectations set before you and share what is so special in your life. Fan us on Facebook, your friends will notice. Follow us on Twitter and tweet about us, your friends will notice. Use one of our banners, free of charge, and your readers will notice. For every member you bring in to the community you are making a difference.

Spread Paint.NET!

- Mike Ryan

This is just a shout out (with the mods' permission, of course) that SpreadPaint.NET is officially open and could be considered 'Feature and Design Complete'.

Word of Note: the Paint.NET forums are not a platform of which to spread Paint.NET. I am pretty sure everybody on these forums have heard of the software. With that being said, keep all chatter about the site to a minimal outside of this thread. Thanks! - Mike Ryan

Good luck with your new site.

In an effort to support spreadpaint.net, I have allowed Mike to be the exclusive distribution site for my latest Feather plugin until I update my plugin pack.

I'm even allowing him to show the source code.

So, go get it!

Great idea, Mike.

If you'd like, you can put my video tutorial on how to get plug-ins onto Paint.NET. Even though it doesn't have plenty of views, all its ratings so far have been 5 stars.

Just a suggestion.

Thanks everybody for the positive comments. I'll remember to call for help when its needed. Don't be surprised if you start to see some of your own tutorials spring up. Like BoltBait said: I need to start focusing on filling the site up with helpful and useful content.

Ever executed a .PHP file locally? Neither have I. Plus the SpreadPaint.NET WordPress theme is highly modular. For future changes like this one, I'll install a test server.

In defense, Analytics told me that nobody would notice. It won't be too long until it looks purrtty.

You could try uploading a new copy of the website to spreadpaint.net/test. As long as you're using all relative links, you should be fine.

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
