Yep, that should be possible.

You need to work in layers. Put the shape on the bottom layer & add each new face on a new layer. Use the shape to trim off the excess.

For example, if you wanted a hexagon, draw that shape on one layer, add layers for faces, use the magic wand to select the outside the hexagon & delete the excess from the faces, one at a time. You could merge the faces down but if you want to change something later on it becomes nearly impossible. I know it's slower doing it one at a time but it could save you a lot later on.
